The Butterfly’s Dream | Dance Stage Production
The Butterfly’s Dream’ is a beautifully conceptualized interdisciplinary dance piece by Kathak artist and choreographer Jin Won in collaboration with Korean director Yong-Suk Yoo which showcases the transformative journey of a butterfly and its struggle to find its true self by integrating Kathak dance, sound collage, and theatrical storytelling with a flavor of Korean shamanism aesthetics. ColabArts commissioned this work with funding provided by the Middlesex County Board of County commissioners through a grant from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund. It was first performed live in 2022 at State Theater NJ as a part of an event curated by Desi Rainbow Parents and Allies and ColabArts Organization.
